This Week in RLA

This week in RLA, students will be reviewing and practicing writing complete sentences to answer questions. They will also be leaning about how to participate and help maintain a positive learning community.  Students will be developing a “Behavior Contract” that they will each sign saying they agree and will follow the statements they determine will ensure a positive learning community.  The most important thing they will be doing is taking the MAPS test in both reading and math.  These test will help teachers and students develop an individual learning path that will assist them in being academically successful this year.

In Social Studies, we will learning and practicing map skills.

A Note from Mrs. Phillips

This week your student will be reviewing fiction and nonfiction comprehension, figurative language, and writing responses to what they read.

Homework will be different this week:  Anything that we are practicing on this week that is not completed in class will be sent home for completion to be retuned the next day. Students are still required to read for 30 minutes a night.

As you can see in A Look Ahead, our testing date is fast approaching.  Please make sure your child is reading and returning any work sent home.  Practice is the only way she/he will improve their reading and writing skills.
